What is the ColisExpat Extension for Amazon and Shein ?

The ColisExpat Extension for Amazon and Shein (also known as the ColisExpat Add-On) is a free tool that integrates directly into your browsing on Amazon.fr and Shein.fr. It allows residents of the French overseas territories (DOM-TOM) to benefit from VAT-free prices on eligible purchases.

Once installed in your browser, the extension appears as a small green pop-up next to your cart. It lets you finalize your order through ColisExpat and easily access the Off Tax service. Before checkout, the extension shows you — in real time — how much VAT you can save on eligible products.

No need to switch to another site: everything happens directly on Amazon.fr or on Shein.fr, in a smooth and intuitive way.

How to use the ColisExpat Extension on Amazon and Shein?

Before placing any order

1. Sign up on ColisExpat and complete your profile

Go to your account and open the “My Addresses” tab. Make sure to enter your overseas (DOM-TOM) address in the “Shipping Addresses” section. Once this address is saved, a new “Off Tax Option” section will appear in your account. Be sure to activate it.

2. Acceptez le mandat Off Tax

2. Install the extension on your browser (Chrome, Firefox, or Edge)

Accédez à Chrome Web Store et inscrivez “ColisExpat” dans la barre de recherche ou cliquez sur le lien suivant : Extension Chrome ColisExpat

The ColisExpat Extension is available on Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, and Microsoft Edge.

When you're shopping on Amazon or Shein

3. Browse and order on the Amazon or Shein platform

Browse and find the item(s) you want.

Your order total must be under €1,000 before tax (excluding VAT); only orders at or below this amount are eligible.

Once you’ve chosen your product, click the “Add to ColisExpat Cart” button on the right side of your screen.

After adding all your items to the cart, click “Proceed to checkout.”

This is when our system kicks in to calculate the applicable tax-free amount.
This process can take up to a minute.

When you checkout your basket, and before payment, the extension shows you the amount of VAT you can save.

4. Delivery of your parcel to our ColisExpat warehouse in France

If you chose Amazon, delivery to our warehouse is automatically covered through our Amazon Prime account. However, this does not apply to Shein orders.

5. Pay for your order

Finalize your purchase by paying the amount including VAT, then wait for your package to be delivered to our ColisExpat warehouse.

Once your parcel has been received by ColisExpat

6. Customs declaration ready and notification of receipt on your account

As soon as we receive your parcel, your customs declaration is filled in automatically. You then receive a notification confirming receipt, and the parcel appears in the “My packages in stock” section of your Customer Area, together with the completed customs declaration.

7. Forward to your home in the French Overseas

All you have to do is plan the forwarding of your parcel to your address in the French Overseas Departments and Territories, choosing the dedicated carrier as usual. VAT will then be refunded, minus a reasonable commission!
